King of the Beach
With over 140 world championships, Sinjin Smith is the most dominant player that the sport of beach volleyball has ever seen!! Sinjin enjoys his time on the sand to this day with the players of the future.
Tom Slauterbeck
Coach Tom is one of the top coaches in Southern California. He has lead many athletes to college careers and currently coaches players from A level to AAA and on.
Stanton Smith
Stanton is the Head Boys coach. He played at SMC for two years and graduated from Cal State Northridge, CSUN. He has 10 plus years of coaching beach volleyball and is currently the assistant coach at Cal State Northridge, 2 years as head coach at Samohi and club coach for Pac6 indoors. He plays professionally in AVP and CBVA events. Son of legend Sinjin Smith, Stanton is one of the founders of the boys Sinjin Beach program.
Dane Piper
Dane has been playing indoors and beach for the past 10 years. He played at SMC and continues playing at high level in CBVAs. Dane has been with us for 3 years now and is helping us coach the future beach volleyball greats.
Maleya Miles (Zuma Director)
Maleya Miles is a dedicated and experienced beach and indoor volleyball coach with a strong background in player development, mentorship, and team leadership. She is a Division I student-athlete at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), where she competes on the university’s beach volleyball team while pursuing a dual degree in Psychology and Child/Adolescent Development.
Maleya has coached at well-known programs including Chaminade College Preparatory School, SoCal Legends Volleyball Club, and other beach clubs. She brings a player-centered coaching philosophy that emphasizes technical growth, confidence building, and character development. Her approach focuses on fostering a strong work ethic, teamwork, and resilience—on and off the sand.
